Winters Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Dick and Cathy Winter of
Granton were married Sept. 5, 1959, at
The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Paul Plautz, and daughter Marissa,
on Sunday, August 30.
The party was hosted by their children, Connie Curran and Conrad Richer, Marcia and Rick Garza,
Kevin Winter, Carolyn and Dave Blumer and Julie and Paul Plautz.
Wedding attendants attending were Gerry Scharf, Lorraine Porath and Barbara Bendlin.
All Cathy’s brothers and sisters were able to attend; Fritz and Margo Elmhorst of Lakeland, FL, Gerry Scharf of Granton,
Tom and Jeannie Elmhorst of Albuquerque, NM, and Barb and Dave Bendlin of Milton.
Dick’s sister, Lorraine Porath, and brother-in-law, George Eloranta, also attended.
Grandchildren attending were Dan Curran, Kyle Curran, Hannah Strickland, Karl Strickland, Logan Blumer, Lana Blumer and Marissa Plautz,
as well as many cousins, family and friends.
A mock wedding took place with Hannah Strickland as the bride, wearing Cathy’s original dress,
and with Philip Sersch as the groom and Tom Elmhorst as the minister. Beautiful weather and sunshine made it a memorable day.
