THE COUNCIL
The make-up of the Council has changed twice during
this period. The constitutional changes were made to
provide guidelines consistent with the policies of the
United Church of Christ and to provide for more membership
participation in planning church policy and in carrying
on the program of the church. The Council has accomplished
much. Each member is made more effective when provided
a specific area of responsibility and with a committee
to assist him.

MEMORIALS AND GIFTS
“All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose
hearts moved them to bring anything for the work which
the Lord commanded Moses to be done, brought it as their
freewill offering to the Lord.” Exodus 35:29
As in earlier years, this period of time was marked
by a great many Memorials and Gifts. Some of these were
given by individuals and were designated for specific
purposes. Many undesignated gifts were given by individuals
or by groups/ The undesignated Memorials and Gifts were
used to purchase such items as were decided appropriate
by the Memorial Committee, the Women’s Guild, the Church
Council, or at times by vote of the congregation. The
Memorial Book records quite precisely the Memorial funds
and how the funds were used. This book may be examined
in the Sanctuary. Following is a partial list of some
of the Memorials and Gifts:
Microphone and loud speaker Lighted cross
Pulpit Chair Carpeting for basement
Dividers used for Sunday School New entry doors
