The Marshfield Clinic Neillsville Dental Center is nearing completion and is scheduled to open Monday, Aug. 10.

Approximately 30 staff employees, including five dentists will work at the clinic as well as five dental hygienists, said Marshfield Clinic Neillsville Dental Center Manager Rhonda Fulwiler.  Most of the staff has been hired, Fulwiler added.

The clinic began scheduling appointments Monday, July 20. Call 715-743-1900 to make an appointment.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will soon be scheduled and will probably take place on a date other than Aug. 10, said Marshfield Clinic Dental Administrator Terry Kleutsch.

A dental clinic ground breaking ceremony was held May 11; the clinic is located on three acres at 8 Boon Boulevard south of the Neillsville American Legion and will be approximately 10,856 square feet.

The new clinic will assist low-income children and adults with oral health problems who are currently not being served.

Dental services provided at the clinic include preventative, restorative and operative care, prosthodontics, endodontics, diagnostic care, oral surgery and emergency care.

The Neillsville Common Council, Economic Development Commission and Planning Commission had approved supporting the project in June 2008.

The city of Neillsville partnered with State Representative Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford), Memorial Medical Center, and Family Health Center of Marshfield to establish the clinic.

The clinic staff plans to treat over 6,000 patients within the first three years of the clinics opening.
