Hail
Champions:
Harmony,
cooperation, teamwork! These best explain the success of
our team. This is the second undefeated Little Eight
Conference Championship for us. Never before has a group
been assembled that would sacrifice individual glory for
cooperation and teamwork as this group has done. Every
member was a champion in his own position - fast,
clever, cool-headed, accurate, a good ball handler,
clever dribbler, and passer.
The team won
every game it played except the one with Abbotsford
which was lost 9 to 8. If the game had been played on s
neutral floor, the story might have been different. The
team did its best and it it too bad we didn't win that
crucial game for then the boys would have gone to
Madison and would have - Oh well, we aren't kicking.
Mitchell
Whiterabbit: Forward-Captain: This little forward played
his best ball this year. Mitchell was a very clever ball
handler and possessed a dead eye for the basket.
Mitchell is only a Junior; so big things are expected of
him next year.
All tournament
first team Abbotsford 1934 and again in 1935.
Harold Feirn -
Forward: This big, strong, aggressive forward won many
games by his all around playing. Harold's specialty is
his one-hand hook shot. He was the individual high
scorer for the team.
All state second
team, 1934
All tournament
first team, Abbotsford, 1934.
All tournament
second team, Abbotsford, 1935.
Hugh Horswill -
Center; This was Hugh's third year as a regular center.
He was as a fine defensive and offensive man - never out
jumped by an opponent.
