Violet
(nee Walker) Bender was born in Hoard Township near Owen, Wisconsin; a daughter
of Bert and Louise
Walker. The
Walkers came to York Township in 1919 and owned a farm in Sections 27.
A graduate of Granton High School and the Certified Teachers Training
Course in Neillsville, she taught school until she married John Poziombka.
They were later divorced and then she married Harold Bender in 1946.
They farmed the Walker farm until Harold retired in 1966. Later in 1975, they moved to Owen, Wisconsin.
