Merle Bushnell
Merle Bushnell was the son of Harry C. and Ida Mae Bushnell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Merle Bushnell came to Thorp, Wisconsin in 1919. [i]He was the husband of the former Carol Huntley, the daughter of Harmon Huntley and Floy Lawrence. Floy was a daughter of Horace and Edna (nee Smithers) Lawrence. Horace, a pioneer of York Township and a Civil War veteran, was the son of Jesse and Almeda (nee Benedict) Lawrence who were also early settlers of York. Likewise, Horace was a first cousin to Adonijah Benedict, another pioneer of York Township and Civil War veteran.
