Infant Child Turner

Died May 26, 1894

The Thursday, May 31, 1894 issue of the Republican and Press indicates that the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. William Turner (“Pint” Turner and the former Bessie Livingston) died “last Saturday morning” (May 26, 1894) and was buried in York Center Cemetery Sunday afternoon.  William “Pint” Turner was a son of Abel and Arvilla (nee Thompson) Turner, who were both early pioneers of York Township.  Bessie (nee Livingston) Turner was a daughter of Samuel and Esther (nee Windsor) who were also early settlers of York.  Bessie was the second wife of Pint Turner’s.  His first wife was the Bessie’s cousin, the former Ida Lawrence, a daughter of Horace A. and Lorinda (nee Windsor).  She was accidentally shot as a young woman and was the first person buried at York Center Cemetery.
