W. J. TAYLOR.W. J. TAYLOR is a Populist and one of the Fusion members of the house of representatives from Custer county, the fifty-sixth district. He was born in the state of Iowa in the year 1862, and came from that state to Nebraska. Mr. Taylor was married in 1882 to Belle C. Morris, and is a farmer by occupation. He was a member of the twenty-sixth session of the Nebraska Legislature and took high rank as one of the most careful and painstaking members in that body. |
DR. CLIFFORD R. TEFFT.DR. CLIFFORD R. TEFFT, one of the Republican members of the house of representatives from Lancaster county, the thirtieth district, was born in Carsapolis, Mich., in 1859, coming from that state to Nebraska in the year 1881. Mr. Tefft is a dentist residing in the city of Lincoln, is married, and has four boys. His election as a member of the twenty-seventh session of the Nebraska Legislature marks his first advent into public office. |
WILLIAM THOMSSEN.WILLIAM THOMSSEN, who is one of the representatives from Hall county, the forty-seventh district, belongs to the Peoples' Independent party; is a native of Nebraska, having been born in Hall county, November 7, 1862. He is a single man and engaged in farming and stock-raising. Mr. Thomssen was treasurer of Hall county for two years before being elected to the twenty-seventh session of the Nebraska Legislature. |
ROBERT TWEED.ROBERT TWEED, representative from Thayer county, the thirty-fifth district, was born in Lake county, Illinois, November 18, 1855, and came to this state in the year 1885. He resides in Davenport, Thayer county, and is engaged in the general merchandise business. His family consists of wife and six children, one boy and five girls. Mr. Tweed has never before held public office, and was elected to the twenty-seventh session of the Nebraska Legislature on the Republican ticket. |
MEL UHL.MEL UHL, representative from Douglas county, the big tenth district, is a Republican. He is a native of Ohio and was born in the year 1864, coming to Nebraska from Iowa in 1872. Mr. Uhl is at present business manager of the Omaha Daily News and has been in active newspaper lines for some years. He is married and has two boys; has never before held public office. |
JOHN VANDEGRIFT.JOHN VANDEGRIFT, Populist representative from the fifty-seventh district, was born in New York state in the year 1857 and came from that state to Nebraska with his parents in 1873. He now resides on his father's old homestead in Sherman county, taken by his father the year he came to Nebraska. Mr. Vandegrift received his education in the common schools of New York state, is a farmer by occupation, and has been an active worker in the Populist party since 1890. He was formerly a Republican. |
