The William Kuehl Family
William Friedrich Kuehl was born 31 March 1892 in Worden, Clark Co., WI to Mr. & Mrs. John Kuehl.
He served during World War I in Co 35 of the 161st Dep. Brigade.
On 15 August 1923 he married Maud Winterer of the town of Butler, WI. Soon after They purchased a farm.
On 17 May 1924 William was accidentally killed by a charge of dynamite while blasting stumps on his farm.
Left to mourn him were his wife, Maud; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Kuehl: his brothers Hugo, August and George of Thorp, WI; Theo of Valley City, ND; and a sister, Agnes, of St Paul. MN
The funeral took place at the M.E. Church with Rev J. A. Benson officiating and the pallbearers selected from among his friends were Peter and Emil Hanks, Charles Henkins, Max Schulz, and Robert and Casper Haas. He was a man with many friends and well liked by all. William was buried at the Thorp Village Cemetery.
