During the coming months the column, "Meet the Folks," will be continued by two
high school seniors: Janet Fauser and Peggy Rossow. Pastor Myhrwold will counsel
and supervise the interviews and the writing, but the column will be written by
the girls in their own style.
There are several reasons for doing this. First, it is important that every
community, especially the smaller ones, develop every resource for understanding
and up building. If the girls have talent, it should be exercised and
encouraged. In fact, every attempt should be made to enlist others in similar
areas to build and strengthen our community. Another reason, of course, is the
pressure of time. It takes time to write a worthwhile article, and so it is
important that many work together. The pastor will contribute articles from time
to time.
Pastor Myhrwold is grateful for the response to the column, and to the
cooperation from the people who have been "written up." He hopes that the people
of the community will be as encouraging to the girls as they write!

Fauser, Janet (Marriage - 12 June 1965)
Miss Janet Fauser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Fauser of Athens and Stanley Schwarze, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze, of Greenwood, repeated Marriage vows in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Orval Egbert in Zion United Church at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 12. The Fausers are former residents of Greenwood.
*Janet made her own dress using a McCall's pattern.
Her veil was made of Chantilly lace, a handmade bobbin lace named after the city
of Chantilly, France, in a tradition dating from the 17th century.[2][3] The
famous silk laces were introduced in the 18th century. Chantilly lace, was also
produced in the 19th century but this one was actually made not in Chantilly
area but in the French Norman town Bayeux and in Geraardsbergen, now in Belgium.
"Chantilly Lace" was a 1958 rock and roll song by The Big Bopper which was still
very popular in 1965, at the time of her marriage.. It was produced by Jerry
Kennedy, and reached No. 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song depicts a
young man flirting with his girlfriend on the telephone and listing things about
her that he likes, including:
Lyrics
Chantilly lace and a pretty face
And a pony tail hangin' down
A wiggle in her walk and a giggle in her talk
Make the world go 'round.
