Albert Herman Schwarze
Albert Herman Schwarze was born 9 Aug. 1878 in the Town of Warner, Clark Co., Wisconsin. He was the fourth of nine children and second son of Hermann and Christine (Meier) Schwarze. His father was a Blacksmith as was his father and many generations before him and Albert also took up that profession, becoming an apprentice of William Rossman. In Germany, "Schwarze" means black and in the case of this family it almost surely referred to the family members' occupation in the blacksmithing trade. 8 Apr. 1913, Agnes L., the twenty-nine year old daughter of Oscar R. and Celia (Pettet) Norris, became Albert's wife. Rev. Sylvester Sweet of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in Greenwood married them. They became the parents of two daughters, Dorothy and Marjorie Lorraine. Both Albert and Agnes are buried in the Greenwood, Wisconsin City Cemetery.
