As of today, we are active in helping to support our local church, as well as missions and our Lay Family, The Ramins, in New Guinea. Our ALCW meets once or twice each month to sew blankets, cancer dressings, layettes, and what ever else comes along to be sewn.
Over the years, the women have borne the greater responsibility of keeping their church building in tip-top shape with their scrubbing, painting, new drapes, and whatever else is needed to make it a more pleasant place to worship and glorify God, who has made all these things possible.
We must not forget to give credit to our maintenance men who have kept up their part of the work. In the Trondhjem Congregation, Joe Krogness and Leonard Johnson served in that capacity. In the United Congregation, the men took turns to see that the janitorial duties were carried out. When our new church was built, we found it necessary to hire a full time caretaker. Mr. Harry Gordee, assisted by his wife, carried out those duties until health problems forced them to retire. Don Warner took over the duties and still carries them on very well. He too is assisted by his wife and her brother.
In 1970, the Bethel Series class was organized. At this present time, the teachers have completed their two years of training and are preparing to attend a post graduate course to better prepare themselves for teaching others later this fall.
