Alice Lillian (nee Young) Benedict

January 17, 1895 - February 2, 1993

Alice (nee Young) Benedict was the wife of Rollie Benedict, whose grandfather; Adonijah Benedict was a pioneer of York Township and a Civil War veteran.  Born in York Township, she was the daughter of Edward Young and Cynthia Adams.  Both of her grandfathers, Nelson H. Young and Samuel A. Adams were pioneers of York Township; they both came from Forest Township, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin in the 1870s.  Her grand-uncle and aunt, David and Emily (nee Adams) Rogers were also pioneers of York Township and owned the farm that was west of the farm owned by Samuel Adams and south of the farm owned by Nelson Young.  Rollie and Alice Benedict lived for many years in a house located on County Highway K in Section 9.  Alice and Rollie Benedict had one child, Edwin, who died as an infant and is buried in York Center Cemetery.
