George Mortimer

January 1, 1889 - October 21, 1968

George Mortimer was a son of William and Stella (nee Pettit) Mortimer, early pioneers of York Township who came to Clark County from Calumet County in 1876.  As such, he was a brother to Jesse Mortimer (Helen Lawrence/Sisson’s father), Grace Rowe and Ray Mortimer, who are also buried in York Center Cemetery.  He lived on his parents’ farm located in Section 22 on Tree Road.
