William Mortimer
March 10, 1850 - August 5, 1899
Born in Elta, Dodge County as a son to Emmanuel and Jennie Mortimer, William Mortimer was a pioneer of York Township. He came with his wife, the former Stella Pettit, from Calumet County in 1876 and lived on a farm in Section 22 on Tree Road. Their children were Jesse Mortimer (Helen Lawrence/Sisson’s father), Ray Mortimer, Grace Rowe, and George Mortimer. Jesse, Grace, Ray, and George are also buried in York Center Cemetery.
