FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS NOT MAKE

MISS MARSHALL DIES AT 3:07 THIS MORNING AND MOTHER BREATHES HER LAST AT 11:45 THIS NOON

The Angel of Death twice entered the Marshall home today. Ere long after its first visit when it took from this world the spirit of Miss Mary Marshall at a little after 3 o’clock this morning, the mother, one of Merrill’s most respected citizens, passed into the Great Beyond.

Miss Mary Elizabeth Marshall, who has been a very successful school teacher in this city for eighteen years past, died of pneumonia following influenza at 3:07 o’clock this morning. This came as a sudden and sad shock to all of her friends, very numerous in the city, as well as to her grief-stricken brothers Walter, of Chicago, and Fred, who just returned to Madison to attend the university after a short visit here with his sister and mother.

Miss Marshall received her primary education in the Tomahawk schools and graduated from the local High school, after which she completed her education at a Normal school. She was a teacher at the Fifth ward (five illegible lines…)

..a large host of friends among the older people, but also had been a dear friend to all her school children. Her patience in her duties was remarkable, a quality that will be greatly missed by all of her pupils.

Mother Dies at Noon

Mrs. W. L. Marshall was taken ill Friday evening and was forced to stay in bed since Monday, When influenza developed into plural pneumonia. Her condition rapidly grew worse until this noon, when she peacefully passed away at 12:45 o’clock. At her bedside were her two sons, who had been summoned by the serious illness of their sister and mother.

Mrs. Marshall has lived here almost forty years, residing for the past several years at her home on 205 Hendricks street with her daughter Mary where they lost their husband and father, W. L. Marshall, as short time ago.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
