PHILLIPS, ALLEN
Anne W. Westbrook 11/8/97
I am looking for any information on Rev. Trustin/Tristan PHILLIPS who was born c. 1804 in Darlington District SC. By 1830 he was in GA (Newton Co. in 1830; Fayette in 1840 and 1850; Heard in 1860 and 1870; and Clayton in 1880). In 1870 Trustin and Piety had four ALLEN children living in their household, including Jeremiah ALLEN (1858-1883). Jeremiah and his sisters were children of Henry A. (b. c. 1830) and Sarah ALLEN (b. c. 1833) who had both died by then. Sarah died in 1863 while Henry was serving in the Confederate Army and Henry died in federal prison camp at Ft. Delaware DEL in 1864. In 1880 Trustin and Piety were in Clayton Co. and J.S. ALLEN was still in their household. Did Trustin pastor a church in Heard and are there church minutes? He pastored churches in Fayette and Clayton before and after his time in Heard. I wonder if Sarah ALLEN was Trustin's and Piety's daughter. The 1850 census does not show a Sarah of her age in their household, however. I also wonder if Trustin and John PHILLIPS of Fayette County were brothers. They and their wives once joined Bethsaida Baptist Church in Fayette on the same day and another time joined that church within a few months of each other. I'll be very grateful for any leads and I'll share any information I have as well as pay the costs of any postage and copyin involved. Anne W. Westbrook 218 West Jones St. Savannah GA 31401

I believe this is son of John WALLS, b. ?; d. 1839/1840 Fayette Co., GA and his wife Susannah ? In 1840 there was a John A. WALLS, Dist. 792, p. 3. In the household were 3 males between 5-10; 1 male between 10-15; 1 male between 30-40 (must be John.) 1 female under 5; 1 female between 5-10; 1 female between 30-40 (must be the wife) and 1 female between 40-50.
