I am interested in finding out more information on each
of the following deceased relatives of mine who were long
time residents of Heard County, Ga.:
(1) Great
great grandparents James and Mary WALLACE.
Migrated from South Carolina to Heard County
around 1845 and lived there at least up through the 1870 census.
(2) My
great grandfather Minor S. WALLACE. He is
the son of James and Mary WALLACE. He
was born in 1846 in Heard County . Was married to
Lavonia WATSON. Is found in several
census reports from 1850 through 1900. Last known to be be
alive in 1905 when he applied for and received a Georgia pension
for ex-Confederate soldiers.
(3) My
grandparents Benjamin Franklin WALLACE and
Lula Ann NATION. Benjamin was the son
of Minor and Lavonia WALLACE. He was
born around 1875 and died in 1961 in Coweta County.
He moved to Coweta County some time in the 1920s. Lula
Ann was the daughter of Tom and Sarah NATION.
Benjamin Franklin WALLACE is found in the census
reports of Heard County for the years 1880, 1900, and
1920. He was from the Enon Grove area of Heard County.
(4) My great
grandparents Tom NATION and Sarah NATION
of Heard County. Both were born around 1846-48
. Tom's death and burial site are unknown. Sarah died
in 1917 and is buried beside her son, Virgil NATION
(c.1872-1958) at a Methodist Church cemetery in Heard County.
Any information on these folks would be

Elizabeth LAMBERT - no dates; William Andrew LAMBERT -
b 23 Sep 1870 Heard Co, GA, d 6 Oct 1923 Stamford,
Jones Co, TX; sp Telula Viola WARD of Stateline,
Heard Co, GA. Other children: John Thomas LAMBERT b 28
Sept 1872 and Ida Alice LAMBERT b 1878. Very willing and
eager to share and compare information.

Rosetta DENHAM, who also was from the same county, around
1910. They had 8 children named: Mamie, Gladis, William, George,

time. We need data on Lewis COX b. 1844 Heard, GA.
He served in Company E, 19th Regiment, "Heard Grays" in

My third great grandparents were John PACE and Jane
(Grincey) MCDANIEL. They moved to Heard County
sometime after 1827 and were still living there at the time of
the 1870 census when they were 79 and 72 years of age. Can anyone
tell me when they died and where they are buried? Any information

Looking for family of Martha S. WORCHESTER b: July 18,
1841 in Heard Co. GA. Married Ishom B. CHRISTAL,
Sept. 11, 1856 possibly in Wayne Co. KY. Martha's family
may have migrated there. Martha S. WORCHESTER & Ishom
B. CHRISTAL had at least three children: Silas Milton
(1857), John Fletcher (1862), & Ishom B. (1865). Martha &
Ishom B. migrated to Denton Co. TX after living in Wayne
Co. KY where Silas Milton was born; other two sons were born
in Denton Co. & Archer Co. TX. Believe Martha
died in 1883 but not known where, possibly Denton Co. TX.
Would like to hear from anyone regarding the parents, siblings,
or descendants of Martha S. WORCHESTER.

I am direct descendent of Littleton WILLIAMSON, early
settler of Heard County (1794-1880), buried Salem
Methodist Church Cemetary. Also Thomas(ton) J. LANGLEY,
son of Lodge LANGLEY who was born in N.C. around
1788 and died in Heard County. My other Heard County connection
is through William N. BUCHANON (BUCKHANNON),b.1843 d.1904,
son of Joseph BUCHANON (BUCKHANNON). William N. BUCHANON
served in Civil War from Heard County. His wife
residing in Heard County received his pension in 1905. I'm
willing to share what limited information I have in hopes others
will pool resources and /or verify.

(Surname unknown). They lived in Heard County, possibly Corinth
District. Their marriage produced ten children. Eight were
born in Heard County, two in Troup County. I am
looking for where they might be buried and information on their

Martha A. LANCASTER was born in Heard County 16 Oct
1839 and died 22 Nov 1913 in Randolph Co, AL. She married
George H. BAILEY (1848-1918). I cannot verify that she is
related to the famous LANCASTER family of Heard/Troup
Co. She may have been married before since she is 8 years
older than her husband, a preacher. Anyone recognize her? Thanks
so much!

Searching for descendants of Jepp R. TEAL, born April 1890
in Heard County, Georgia, married to a woman named Martha,
with the following known children from the 1920 census: Bessie TEAL,
born 1911. Jepp R. TEAL died June 28, 1937 in Heard
County, Georgia. He probably had more children, but
I don't know who they were. Jepp R. TEAL's parents
were Jesse T. C. TEAL, born December 1851 in Heard
County, GA and Sarah (Sally) ASHLEY born May 1854 in Heard
County, GA. The other known children of Jesse and Sally TEAL
were: Henry Newton TEAL born ca 1881 in Heard
County, GA; Cleveland TEAL born October 1888; Joseph
W. TEAL (my grandfather) born June 1892; James I. TEAL born
May 1893. Jesse T. C. TEAL had a daughter named Lula, born
ca 1877 in Heard County GA from a previous marriage, and
Lula's mother died shortly after she was born. Lula TEAL married
Austin E. MARTIN ca 1894 in Cleburne County, AL.
Would like to contact descendants of these families to share
family history. Many of these families moved to Cleburne
County, AL between 1900-1920.

TEAL

I am looking for information on the Lee Andrew TEAL and
James Benjamin Franklin TEAL (Frank) who lived in Heard
County. Lee was born 1873 and died 1947 in Carroll County
hospital. He was burned while starting a fire in a fireplace and
dropping a gallon of kerosene which broke.
Frank was born 1869 and died in 1943. He lived in Carroll
County when he died but had lived in Heard County when
his oldest son Josephus TEAL was born.
What I really need is their mother and father's names and where
they were born. I have not been able to identify them in the
census records. Thank you for your help.

Does anyone have any info on Henry MITCHELL age 45 b SC
in the 1850 Heard Co census, with wife, Lucy and
children: John, James, Nancy, Emily, Henry, Lucy, Elizabeth,
William Benjamin, Frances. My ancestor is an Emily MITCHELL and
I am trying to determine if this is the correct one.
