where the nearest Post Office was located in
Dedham. John was raised in the
Lutheran religion.

John Ploman was born 24 Jun 1873 in Mornger, Germany and immigrated to the United States sailing aboard the SS Rhine, landing in Baltimore, MD on April Fools Day, 1891. He first resided in Shelby Co., IA with his older brother Edward's family who had settled there a year earlier. After moving to Clark Co.,, Wisconsin lived in the home of Alta Palms in Beaver Twp., At the time of the 1950 Federal Census, he was living in Unity as a single head of household. He passed away just before Christmas, 10 Dec. 1957, at the age of eighty-four and was buried in an grave now only marked with a wooded cross, in the Saint John's, Riplinger, WI in plot 17, grave 5.

Mrs. Edward Ploman died in an Eau Claire hospital early Monday Morning from old age complications.
Private funeral services will be held at the Myre Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery. The Rev. Warren Henderson of Granton, pastor of the Veefkind Community Church will officiate.
The former Elizabeth Mienke was born in Germany May 20, 1874. She came to America with her parents when a young girl. They settled in Iowa. In 1896 she was married to Edward Ploman in Iowa. They came to a farm in the town of Unity I 1917. In 1929 they moved to Barronet. Mr. Ploman died in 1946.
She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Paul (Laura) Tyrolt, Marshfield; Mrs. Byron (Anna) Schofield, Cadott; Mrs. Adolph (Helena) Ross, Edgar; Mrs. Paul (Rose) Dietsche and Mrs. Peter (Selma) Rueth, Loyal; and Mrs. Calvin (Bertha) Foster, Concord, Calif.; Charlie of San Diego, Calif.; Fred, Loyal; Edward, Jr., Spencer, R. 2; and Walter, Milwaukee; by 35 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and by several step-sisters and step brothers. Besides her husband, one brother and two children preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Edward Ploman, 83, were held at the Myre Funeral Home, at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Ploman died in the Eau Claire Hospital, Monday, Oct. 21, of old age complications.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Warren Henderson, Granton, pastor of the Veefkind Community Church.
Pall bearers were Sigward Johnson, Harold Johnson, Albert Oestreich, Ralph Oestreich, Everett Oestreich and Gordon Tyrolt.
The hymn, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus: was sung by the Rev. and Mrs. Henderson and Darlene Ploman sang, "Gods Tomorrow". Mrs. Henderson was organist.
