He married (1) LOUISA PRESSY Abt. 1846. She was born 1826. He married (2) MARY ANN WEBER HOMMEL 15 Mar 1870. She was born 13 Aug 1825 in Wurtenberg, Germany, and died 22 Jan 1913 in Greenwood, Clark County, Wisconsin.

Moses Babb served in the Civil War. He held the rank of Private in Co. D, Regiment: 20th Wis. Inf. He enlisted on Feb. 8, 1864 and was discharged Jan. 17, 1866.

Wedding
J. W. Hommel and Mrs. Lottie Hommel were witnesses at the wedding of Isadora
Babb and David Shanks on March 18, 1879 at Neillsville, Clark County,
Wisconsin.

Moses Babb is indeed buried there on the Hommel lot of Greenwood
Cemetery...his is on the left back row w/Legion flag on it & the marker
where it was marked as Civil War. What I meant is that in looking thru the
cemetery record it shows an addition grave as "M. Babb" & as far as I can
figure out that is grave of my great grandfather John Hommel...will have to
look at the records again but busy at moment. Noticed that when they sent
the records from Greenwood Library also. The tall old family marker shows
names of great Grandma Mary (Webber) Hommel Babb on it & on one side shows
lst husb. John Hommel & on other side Moses Babb. She is buried between the
two of them, w/Moses Babb on s. side & then she & John Hommel have matching
stones which show MOTHER on hers & FATHER on his. Contributed by Norma

Babb, Moses (1822 - 2 JUN 1895)
Moses Babb, of Greenwood, Clark County, step-father of Tom Hommel, died
Sunday, June 2nd, 1895, at the age of 72 years. He has been a resident of
Greenwood for twenty years.
