HOBSON, POTTER
posted by Erin M. Palli on Wednesday, December

Seeking information on Jesse Mae POTTER Hobson. I have no birth dates or
death dates, but she would have been born around 1885 - 1890. She married
William Edwin HOBSON and they had five children (Anna Lee, Garland, Potter,
Graham, and Raymond). I know she is buried in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in
Jeffersonville next to her husband but nothing more of her is known to
me. I am working with someone on the Hobson line, so only Potter knowledge
is needed. This line has eluded me for quite sometime. Any info whether
related or not would be deeply appreciated, even speculations would be
more than welcome. She would possibly be found in Harrison and Floyd County,
as well as Clark County.

I am searching for proof of parents for the following LINDSEY family that
settled in IN. They had land in Springville, Clark County in 1809. John
b 1792 KY d 1874 Laporte IN, m #1 Elizabeth SHIELDS 1814 m #2 Nancy SHIELDS
1833 (Shields girls were cousins), William b 1795 KY (he may have lived
in IL), Joshua b 1799 d 1896 IN m Sarah JOHNSON 1823 in IL., Sarah b 1802
d 1850 IN m Stephen McCOY 1820 IN, Nancy b 1806 d 1855 m Friend JOHNSON
1823 Il (brother to above Sarah), Findley b 1809 Clark Co IN d 1884 Humboldt
Co CA m Rebecca WAGGONER 1835 White Co IN (my line), Martha m William GREGORY
abt 1820 Jackson Co IN, Elizabeth m Benjamin HOLMES 1819 Jackson Co IN,
Boyd m ---- Martin. I find 2 possible sets of parents but perhaps neither
is correct. #1 Joshua & Elizaberh are listed as parents in a book on
the Shields family and Joshua owned land in Clark Co where Findley was
born. #2 Wm & Mary/Margaret (FINDLEY) because of an old family letter,
the names & ages of the children, and other research done on the Findley
family. I am sure since we have so much information on these children that
they had a set of parents. Who are they??? Help on any of these families
will be most appreciated. (This is not part of the query but there was
not space to list all the individuals separately so I put 2 in one space
with the same surname. Hope that will not confuse listing them as seperate
people not with 2 names.

Hi, I am trying to find a will for my ggg grandfather John W. CONNER. He
was born in VA in abt 1792. He lived most of his life in Clark Co., IN.
He died and was buried in the Charlestown IN area (CLARK CO.)in 1858. In
a wills book found in the Jeffer- sonville library, a will for a John Conner
in 1858 was supposedly in Madison Co.. However, when I contacted them they
said their records did not start until 1879. I have checked with Clark
and Floyd Counties as well. Is there another way to locate this will of
John Conner of 1858? It may not by mine, but I would like to take a look.
I wondered if they meant Madison, IN not Co. This would by Jefferson Co.
Is this a possibility? Gwynne C. Lundy

South Carolina. His parents, and siblings I have no information on. What
I do have is that, Riley KELLER married Harriet MILLER on 29 Apr. 1835,
in Clark or Orange County. They had eleven children named, Jacob Riley
born 1848 in Jackson County In., Mary A. born 1840, William A. born 1841,
John Martin born 23 Feb. 1842 in Clark County In., Eliza C. born 1843,

Illinois, Benjamin F. born 1851, Andrew J. born 1854, A. Douglas born 1858,
Juda C. born abt. 1861 in Cumberland County Illinois. I also have that
Riley Keller died 25 July 1885 in Cumberland County Illinois, and that
his wife is buried beside him, and that she died in Cumberland County Illinois
also, but the stone has no death date for her. My line is from their son
Jacob Riley. He is my gggrandfather. I do have info I would share about
Jacob Riley to now, with anyone that could help me with info of his parents

in 1851. He was well travelled, having been in Brown Co. OH in 1816, then
Shelby Co. OH, then Clark Co. Indiana in 1835 and then to Fountain Co.
by 1840. He could also be the Stephen Tyters in Bradford Co. PA in 1810.
A partial list of his children includes: William b. 1816 in Brown Co OH
m. 1840 Mary DODSON in Fountain Co. Ind Elizabeth m. William EVART/EWART
1837 in Fountain Co. Census in Huntington Co. Indiana Catherine m. Aaron

according to a county Bio on Son William, and had 3 wifes, Nancy SATTERLEE,

was also recorded in Orange Co. Indiana, why that is I have no idea.)
